Alleles Design Studio (@alleles) is on a mission to stop hiding and start celebrating amputations. McCauley Wanner and Ryan Palibroda are the entrepreneurs behind the company that creates stylish covers for leg prosthetics for people all over the world. “We are trying to give our clients a new and empowering experience,” McCauley says. “Because what we are doing never existed before, we really had to take it upon ourselves to show people it was possible and that there was a need.”

McCauley and Ryan grew up in northern Saskatchewan and have seen more of Canada than most people. “We’ve lived and worked in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia, and we’ve found that each province has its own distinct culture,” says McCauley. She believes if there’s one thing that defines Canadians, it’s altruism. “If we are going to be successful, it’s not going to come at the cost of someone else, the environment or other cultures.”
